One of the largest trees in North America the Bur Oak is a deciduous tree growing 65-130 ft in height with a similar spread, developing into an oval form with a massive trunk and stout branches. Bark dark gray to gray-brown, becoming deep ridged and furrowed. Very adaptable to various soil conditions and fairly tolerant of urban conditions. It's large root system makes it fairly drought tolerant. Hardy to USDA Zone 3
