Honeylocust, Skyline

Gleditsia Triacanthos var. Inermis Skyline

The Skyline honeylocust is a deciduous tree that can grow up to 50-60 ft or more. It generally has an open, spreading crown, and produces light airy shade. The compound leaves are bright yellow in the spring and turn a light green in the summer then back to pale yellow in the fall. Since the leaves tend to disintigrate as they drop making raking unnecessary they are considered good yard trees. The Skyline is a seedless cultivar with a strong central leader and good branching structure. Tolerates poor dry soils, salinity, and pollution. Full sun. Hardy to USDA Zone 3.
